I attended a few parties this summer and witnessed not once but at least three times on different occasions, one of the worst involuntary and unintentional fashion blunder women can fall prey to... someone wearing the exact dress you have on! With more and more women getting fashion savvier each day, the chances of seeing your dress' evil twin gracing the same social engagement you RSVP to are pretty high. Not to mention, the time and money invested to feel and look extra special loses some of it's value.
My advice to prevent such melancholic fashion faux pas? Know how to incorporate the season's trends to your style. Keyword is 'incorporate', a head to toe look with all of the season's trends makes you look like a walking trend list. Think vintage - an homage to vintage or vintage inspired fashions are always a hit when styled right. Shop for interesting and fresh silhouettes. And most importantly, remember it's you who make fashion happen not the other way around.

I have to admit, Trench Coats were never a part of my wardrobe. They are bulky, to much going on and thought the style was a bit 'old' for me. But lately, I've been seeing a few trench coats that have been updated well suited for today's trends and style. One update in particular that made me reconsider adding a trench coat in my closet is the shorter trench coats. It's amazing how something as simple like shortening the length of a trench coat can give it a modern and trendy look.

Lacing up knee-high boots can be frustrating at times. So why would want to triple that frustration with this Triple Lace-Up Boot by Ann Demeulemeester. This punk chic boot has to be the only boot that made me tired just by looking at it. I also don't like the Frankenstein-ish look it has. Don't get me wrong, I love punk inspired looks but when a certain look starts to become more tedious to achieve then it's not for me. Besides styles and looks should seem effortless. In fairness, I do like the flat mid-calf single lace-up boot version of this.

When I got home from work today, the October issue of W Magazine was waiting for me. "Wow! Flawless. Fierce," I heard myself say at the first sight of Anne Hathaway on the cover wearing a white Dior Haute Couture dress, her hair and make-up reminiscent of mythological goddesses.
W Magazine's interview with Anne Hathaway was a fabulous read! The article 'Queen Anne' is a rare after-break-up interview with Hathaway (she recently split with 4-year boyfriend Raffaello Follieri). The press and media had a relentless field day with their breakup.
But the article doesn't focus on the recent scandal, rather it explores the multi-faceted actress whom we adored in the 'Princess Diaries,' the wife we admired and emphatized with in 'Brokeback Mountain' and the woman for whom we rooted and wanted to be in 'The Devil Wears Prada.'

Sneakers are becoming more than the summer footwear of choice for men. Athletic shoe manufacturers like Puma and Reebok now offer fashion-forward designs and trendy styles. With inspirations like Peter Pan and Captain Jack Sparrow, Betsey Johnson Spring 2009 was like attending a Caribbean themed wedding. Models with bowler hats wearing hoop-skirted dresses, ruffles, corsets and bathing suits done in bright colors. The latter half of the show was a series of all-white dresses and gowns, perfect for those brides who wants a non-traditional wedding. I personally admire Betsey Johnson for not taking fashion so seriously which is apparent in every collection she creates. You know she enjoys making fabulous fashion through her designs!

A key color trend this fall are rich, deep shades of purple and plum. Purple gives that crisp, elegant and refined look to any fashion apparel, shoe and accessory. Brightly colored dresses, jackets and bustiers in yellow, orange and mauve are perfect to welcome the season. The textures are fabulous. I particularly love how Isaac Mizrahi named every piece in the collection. Each piece was named after a fabulous insect like Squash Bug Shirt Jacket, Sugar Beetle Suit, Glamourpillar to name a few. Isaac Mizrahi's collection is very wearble as well!

Doo.ri is undeniably talented and one of the most sought after woman's apparel designer today and a personal favorite of mine. But even the best do falter every now and then. | Cycle 11 of America's Next Top Model premiered last night on CW. The futuristic theme in the beginning with Alpha Jay, Beta Jay and Tyra-Bot was a little to much for me. But other than that, I think this will be another great season! Reason I say that, last season we were there to see the fabulous Whitney ( first plus size model ) winning the most coveted reality modeling competition on t.v. today. And this year can be another history making season for Ms. Tyra's search for america's next top model. Let's just call them 'Hater One' and 'Hater Two'. Hater One, said and I quote: "She ( Isis ) has no place in this competition". Hater Two tried intimidating Isis during her photo shot by saying: "Isis you better shave your legs" and "Look at you, you're sweating..." Classic luxury apparel is the best words to describe James Perse. I love the simple yet chic and elegant designs they have to offer. And the subtle luxury that you can find on their garments like cashmere and wool.
