Recently in America's Next Top Model Category

The outcome on the last episode of America's Next Top Model Cycle 12 was predictable but entertaining. the remaining models had a photo shoot with R&B singer Sierra. She was gorgeous as always.   London's weight-gain was undeniably her downfall. Making her self-conscious during the shoot. The extra pounds she packed was so noticeable, even the assistant during the photo shoot challenge thought she have gotten 'really-big'. A comment I thought that was a bit harsh. A male model carrying a tin of nuts made an appearance during the judging. At first, I thought Tyra has a new line of nuts she was trying to promote. But it was a clue as to where will be the next destination is for the remaining model hopefuls. So, the girls are off to Brazil, birthplace of Gisselle Bundchen and Adriana Lima, a couple of today's top supermodels.

To be quite honest, this season of America's Next Top Model started of a bit boring for me. I felt that the first few episodes were lagging. And my least favorite model wanna-be Sandra, annoyed me so much. She left me uninspired to write about the show. Now that she got the boot, on with the chatter.

Season Premier Episode

First of, thank you Ms. Banks for making the season's premier episode 100 times more fabulous than last cycle. Give me Grecian Goddess Tyra any day. None of that 'fem-bot' supermodel last season. I also like that there are more partner and group photo shoots. You can see who the stands out in the competition. Make-up and styling has definitely improved as well. And as always, a posing challenge with Benny Ninja is fabulously entertaining.

The Models
I'm so excited that my top faves to win are still in the competition. Celia, Fo and Allison. Each of them has a quality that I adored. Celia, her maturity helps abundantly but she knows this can might as well be her Achilles Heel. In an industry where the never-ending search for the fountain of youth powers the money-making engines, she is at 25 is considered a retirement age. But I still love the girl!

Fo's spunk, versatility and constant improvement challenge after challenge will carry her far in the competition. Despite the bratty, 'for-crying-out-loud-enough-already-so-they-cut-your-hair-short-get-over-it' stint after the model make-overs.

Lastly, wide-eyed and so-shy Allison. I just love her look. If she can develop her walk and up the ante on her self-confidence. I see her walking the runway for one of John Galliano's Dior Couture collections.

Cycle 11 Winner Mckey, flawless beauty.

I was screaming like a girl when my favorite model Mckey, won America's Next Top Model last night. Last night was a nail biter. I honestly thought Valley girl Samantha, will pull the upset of the night based on her fabulous performance during the Cover Girl commercial challenge. Annaleigh crumbled under pressure during the challenge and went blank and can't remember a single word of the script for the commercial. Annaleigh, nerves got the best of her. Samantha this season's runner-up has a bright future in modelling.

Jay Manuel's Pepto Bismol-Willy Wonka or what have you inspired runway you was quite the challenge. Considering the model were wearing 4" heels and evening gowns. Cycle 10 winner Whitney, opened the runway show and she was looking oh so fabulous.

Last night's episode of America's Next Top Model was somewhat predictable. Mckey and Analeigh secured their respective spots to vie for the grand prize.  As mentioned on my last post, Marjorie's nerves got the best of her and was eliminated despite Samantha's lackluster performance during the photo shoot. This girl also can drink! Hmmmm, maybe she should've taken a shot of vodka or something to calm her nerves down every photo shoot. Who knows she might still be in the running to be America's Next Top model if she did.

It's been a few weeks since I talked about America's Next Top Model. Quite frankly, I felt that the show was lagging. Then there's the new day and time slot change which totally confused the heck out of my Tivo. Last night's episode was the go-see challenge. The five remaining models had to navigate through the canals and streets of Amsterdam. This type of challenge is perhaps my favorite in the history of ANTM. It's a test of endurance, intelligence and you can tell which aspiring model can make it in the modeling industry. The five remaining contestants were Marjorie, McKey, Elina, Analeigh and Samantha.

I'm betting on McKey to win the competition this season. She delivers editorial worthy photos week after week. But she still has the commercial spokesperson challenge for Cover Girl ahead and if she performs ok then the title is hers. My other favorite is Marjorie, one problem is she always nervous and frazzled. If only she can relax. A little sedative perhaps will calm her down? My prediction, she will get the boot next. The dark horse this season is definitely Analeigh. She won the go-see challenge by default (McKey actually won but was late going back to the agency and was disqualified). She's on a roll! If she keeps delivering gorgeous photos and great personality she will be one of the final two models. I'm still having mix reviews on Samantha. It's going to be hard for her to secure a spot on the final two spot. It's down to the wire and she's facing touch competition. Elina, Elina, Elina, what happened? She is one of my early favorites this season but I actually got turned-off. I think it all started when she didn't like her a makeover which she used as an excused for not doing well in the competition. I also had enough with her 'know-it-all' attitude. I have to agree with the judges on her being stiff. So, it wasn't a surprise to see her go last night.

Last night's America's Next Top Model didn't disappoint and definitely satisfied my guilty pleasures. The aspiring models had a couple of challenges. First, was to model Tarina Tarantino's accessories and handbags by using their bodies to create odd poses and the photo shoot challenge was hanging from a rope ladder suspended in mid air. And the not so cute moments from last night's episode: Another 'hater' spawned last night, I bet you know whom I'm referring to. She pushed Isis while they are in the pool and claimed to be the 'stereotypical white girl'. Excuse me, the white girls I know are open-minded and don't discriminate! Cheers: Sheena admitting she has breast implants. Analeigh helping Isis administer her hormones.

Cycle 11 of America's Next Top Model premiered last night on CW. The futuristic theme in the beginning with Alpha Jay, Beta Jay and Tyra-Bot was a little to much for me. But other than that, I think this will be another great season! Reason I say that, last season we were there to see the fabulous Whitney ( first plus size model ) winning the most coveted reality modeling competition on t.v. today. And this year can be another history making season for Ms. Tyra's search for america's next top model. We might witness the first transgender to be hailed as the winner and her name is Isis.

As much as I want to give a couple of the contestants a piece of my mind on what they said about Isis, I'll be the better person and not even mention their names and don't go ballistic on them. Let's just call them 'Hater One' and 'Hater Two'. Hater One, said and I quote: "She ( Isis ) has no place in this competition". Hater Two tried intimidating Isis during her photo shot by saying: "Isis you better shave your legs" and "Look at you, you're sweating..." So, I'll leave it at that and my dear readers please comment if you may regarding this remarks. I believe in Karma, the contestants better be careful what they do to each other. Because Karma is a bitch! Look what happened to one of the 'Haters', she ain't America's Next Top Model after all. The 10th cycle winner of America's Next Top Model is.... full figured, plus size!!! It only took ten seasons to finally have a gorgeous model with real curves to emerge as America's Next Top Model. I'm very happy for Whitney, a 20 year old student from Atlantic Beach, FL. Anya, the runner up this season and a heavy favorite along side with Fatima ( Iman look-a-like ) let her nerves get the best of her. Which was evident during the final fashion show featuring designs by Donnatella Versace. My personal favorite was Claire to bad she got cut mid season. Overall, this season was fabulous and of course filled with drama, drama and more drama. And of course, Tyra's face is still everywhere, i.e. the Mona Lisa postcard. Congratulations, Whitney. You go girl!! Goodluck to all the models.
