Crimes of Fashion: Rue du Mail Velour Cocoon Coat

| | Comments (2)
Oh Velour... So soft and luxurious yet can be disastrous when used for clothing. I'm not totally against velour, I think that it should be limited to loungewear, dancewear and those few activewear garments that have managed to become a part of the everyday wardrobe -- like velour pants by Juicy Couture.

This 'Cocoon' Coat by Rue du Mail is an example of velour overdone ( as if the design is not offensive enough ). As much as I try to hypothesize any reasons why Rue du Mail would have made such an unflattering, matronly looking and tasteless design, I just can't. Perhaps, it's metaphorical -- a beautiful butterfly awaits inside this cocoon. Yeah sure, nice try!

Haha! I agree - this is not a good use of velour although it does look quite comfy :-)

It sure does! I have a velour comforter that once I cover myself with it, I instantly fall asleep lol.
