I am in total shock when I heard the news a few hours ago about Alexander McQueen committing suicide today. I am just so sad to go further. Keep posted for my tribute to one of fashion's icon. Lee you will be missed!

Either Paris Fashion Week organizers had 'save the best for last' in mind or designer's calculated move to show their collections nearing the end of the event. In my opinion, it doesn't matter when designers showcase their collection. If their collection is memorable, it will be remembered.

A day before the last full line-up of anticipated collections. Avant-garde designer Alexander McQueen embarked on a journey to where everything started, the ocean. The opening, true to McQueen's poetic retrospective shows was a kaleidoscope of organic strobes of lights. Models shared the stage with two cameras on tracks shooting a 360 degree perspective on every look that was projected on a screen as the backdrop.

McQueen's collection received mix reviews. My take on it? I loved every second and every sequin of it! The pieces are wearable, modern and quite chic. Oh and the shoes are fierce! Though some resemble crustacean snappers and a prehistoric reptile, there are those with metal heels that I absolutely adore.

Whatever critics may say, I totally appreciate McQueen's vision. He continuously delivers season after season. After seeing his collection, I heard the Mighty Mouse tune, 'here I come to save the day' in my head. McQueen certainly made Paris Fashion Week interesting and live to it's expectations. To be quite frank, I was starting to feel disappointment on one of the most anticipated fashion event of the season. With one day left, Marc Jacobs rolled out his designs for Louis Vuitton (which I'll feature tomorrow), Miu Miu was nothing special and I'm waiting to see what John Galliano has in store. Till then, ciao.

Smart Fall Trend: Draped Skirt

Balenciaga Ready-to-Wear Fall 2009. Photos courtesy of Style.com

I was in awe when I saw Balenciaga's Fall RTW Collection. The collection is romantic, elegant, luxurious and very chic. Along with the fierce footwear Nicolas Ghesquière designed for Balenciaga,  draped skirts are key pieces in the collection. The skillful draping of silk to create the silhouettes is impeccable and precise.

There are a variety of draped skirts available for fall. From minimalist to avant garde. The key to making a draped skirt for you is the fit. Ideally, high-waist and above-the-knee length. Try not to overdo the draping, you might end up like you're wearing drapery.

Opt for plain black, gray, simple pattern fabrics paired with tall boots for day. Soft pastels, bold prints goes fabulously with ankle boots, booties worn with tights for night.

Make A Statement This Fall With Feathers

Ilana Wolf Ostrich Capelet $315.00, Alexander McQueen Fall 2009, Tibi Pump $420.00
Fall is my favorite season in fashion. Most designers' best ready-to-wear and couture creations are their fall collections. Its also the season of statements. One statement worthy fashion staple you can add to your repertoire  this fall are feathers. Ostrich feather dresses, feather detailed shoes and accessories flocked the fall runways of fashion's top designers.

Alexander McQueen designed a dress made out of ostrich feathers (above photo) which is so fierce but solely editorial. I'd wear it but I might get clucked at. To much of a statement for my taste.

Feather Cloche $52.00, Elizabeth and James Jacket $725.00, Pedro Garcia Pump $725.00

As I always say moderation is key. Add a dash of tasteful, chic and fashionable feather pieces to your look. Don't over do it. Think accessories like shoes, handbags and hats. Pedro Garcia has a pair of feather peep-toe pumps that I just love (shown above). When it comes to apparel, feather skirts and jackets with feather details are hot! On this note, sorry feather boas are not the way to go if you want to make a fashion statement. Unless, its Halloween.

Alexander McQueen Skull Nuckle Clutch

Alexander McQueen Skull Knuckle Duster Whipsnake Clutch
$1,895.00 Available to Pre-Order at Saks.com

Alexander McQueen's ingenuity never ceases to astound me. As seen on this Skull Knuckle Duster Whipsnake Clutch. I am loving every inch of this handbag! From the sexy deep red snakeskin to the edgy knuckle handle. Having this on hand makes it look like you're wearing four different rings.

And if someone try to mug you, they better think twice because you're ready to rumble with those knuckle rings! Who needs pepper spray when you have this clutch on tote?
Of course this clutch comes with a hefty price at almost $2,000. Till later, toodles.

Alexander McQueen's affinity to edgy, high-fashion and avant-garde is undeniable. But while Zac Posen and Christian Dior are rolling out breathtaking collections, McQueen decides on these garb? Props for bringing the houndstooth pattern in the spotlight. There are just a lot of strong fall ready-to-wear collections that in comparison exacerbates McQueen's effort. And quite frankly, there are a few looks that reminded me of Dior Spring 2008 Couture Collection. God didn't save McQueen this time around.

Alexander McQueen Spring/Summer 09 'Ribcage' Collection for PUMA is available today at The Black Store in New York's Meat Packing District and online at PUMA.com. AMQ Ribcage is influenced by McQueen's human anatomy and architecture inspired fashion line.I like that each sneaker has equal distinctions in style. Not to much McQueen and not all PUMA. Along with the Ribcage collection, Scythe is definitely one of my favorites.

McQueen re-invented PUMA's Basket shoes which was introduced in the 1970s and infused with vampirical shapes also seen on his mainline collection. Yes, I have to agree the prices are bit high. But then again, these prices are to be expected since they are designed by one of fashion's best and top sneaker brand, PUMA.

'God Save McQueen!'

Alexander McQueen redeemed himself with his men's fall 2009 collection after a not so much spring collection. The collection named 'The McQueensberry Rules' if ever made to a movie, will have characters that can be described as 'The Gangs of New York' meets 'Sweeney Todd' meets 'Interview with a Vampire' meets 'Cinderella Man'.

The collection also showcases McQueen's impeccable mastery of the art of tailoring. It's obvious that the creative juices are flowing abundantly when he designed this collection. I can't wait for his women's fall collection!

I've been an Alexander McQueen fan from the day he fiercely broke into the fashion world. And throughout his career there are designs that I totally dislike, like these tops from his Men's Spring 2009 Collection.I am for androgyny, cross-dressing and love drag queens but these men's tops are just out-of-whack! What straight or metrosexual man would wear something like resembles a women's top?
