For the 5th Year Gucci's Campaign to Benefit UNICEF, Gucci Creative Director Frida Gianinni has commissioned acclaimed author and illustrate Michael Roberts to create 'Snowman in Africa'. A children's book of which 100% of the profits will benefit UNICEF. Coinciding with the book, Gucci also launched a series of handbags and accessories for Cruise 2010 donating 25% of each sale to UNICEF.

It is so heart-warming to see every designer and fashion house doing their part in giving back to the community. Project Runway host Heidi Klum was photographed recently carrying the 'Joy' handbag. Thanks Heidi for the support!

I love that Gucci invested the time in reinventing the classic black boot, a must-have in every woman's wardrobe. Chic platform, wedge, ankle and knee-high boots done in modern and stylish designs makes Gucci the go-to luxury brand for black boots this fall. My two faves are the Lockhart Knit Wedge Boot and Riddle Lace-Up Boot (shown above). I'm sure Gucci boots will end up in every must-have lists this fall.

I went to the mall today to look (and smell) for the best women's fragrance to wear this summer. Twenty scents later I came up with my top eight. My plan was to pick five but just can't seem to narrow them down to that. With all the choices out there, I suggest to remember the 3 F's when shopping for fragrance. The 3 F's are floral, fresh and feminine. Avoid over-powering and heavy scents. Keep in mind that a fresh scent makes you feel fresh as well. Which is crucial under the summer sun's sweltering heat. Along with hi-top sneakers, multicolor and bright colored sneakers are the trend for men this summer. When we went to see X-Men Origins: Wolverine a couple of nights ago, I noticed that most guys were wearing either black or white sneakers. Nothing wrong with that, it is quite boring though. I know I can't really blame men for being 'safe' on choosing to look like everybody else, but come on guys live a little. Better yet, live on the edge and add some color in your wardrobe. Express yourself through fashion.

Statement worthy earrings, bracelets, and necklaces are in the spotlight for spring.Large scale, precious stones and tribal inspired jewelry parade down the runways of top designers. 

Marc Jacobs tribal inspired bangles and necklaces gave the collection a fabulous synergy. Louis Vuitton opted for tribal-chic jewelry as well, the jewelry were larger in scale with innovative designs.

John Galliano had big hair, big headdresses and big necklaces. I guess big things come in 3s. Gucci's 'Spring Exotica' collection complimented with amorphous precious stones.

With a couple of Crimes of Fashion, Valentino hasn't faired well here on TheSmartStylist.com. And just for the record, I'm not singling him out. I have the outmost respect for his creativity and consider him as one of fashion's most important and most influential person. As for the fashion offenders that I deliver into justice week after week, they can be a criminal this week and a hero the next. Besides life is to short to hold a grudge on something that's ugly.
