Melissa Printed Ultragirl Flats $98.00
When I hear Melissa Shoes; chic, stylish, trendy and eco-friendly comes to mind. The brand gains more following every time a new collection launches. This time around, Melissa ups the ante by collaborating with top fashion designers. The latest partnership is with one of my all-time favorite designers Jean Paul Gaultier. Plastic shoes never looked so luxurious and very eco-chic. I love the covered and organic look of the design. The price might seem high but considering how much Gaultier's footwear costs this is not so bad.

Melissa Ultragirl Crinkle Paper Flat $70.00
Melissa shoes are definitely not just resting on their laurels. Every season, they offer chic, stylish and fresh designs. For spring and summer Melissa rolled out a collection of ecofabulous flats. I particularly love this Ultragirl Crinkle Paper Flat. The crinkle paper print is very innovative. Made with recycled and recyclable materials. Priced so reasonably at only $70! Pair it with shorts, skirts, skinny jeans and so on. Endless pairing possibilities.

Melissa 'Adanna' Flocked Flats $60.00
Melissa Shoes has definitely been improving and evolving every season. I am loving the texture on their latest additions. Just look at these eco-chi and quite stylish mary jane flats. The shiny button detail is simply adorable. Made with recycled and recyclable materials. With their versatile design, easily pair them with denim jeans, skirts and dresses.

Karim Rashid for Melissa Shoes Wedge $116.00 Available exclusively at Browns Fashion
Considered to be one of the most prolific designers of his generation, Karim Rashid's recent collaboration with eco-chic footwear Melissa Shoes is definitely eco-fashion at it's best. Melissa Shoes ups the ante with 'Karim' wedge. This is just one of the new fabulous designs Melissa has to offer. They really went outside the box. From cute ballet flats to haute couture eco-friendly shoes.
'Smart EcoStyle of the Week' was a category I added a couple of months after launching TheSmartStylist.com. I saw this as an opportunity to increase awareness of eco-fabulous and eco-chic fashion, shoes and accessories. My way of helping the green revolution.
I have to admit my knowledge of eco-friendly fashion was limited. But with the daily research on the latest trends in eco-fashion, I gained vast knowledge on labor practices and sustainable materials used to make earth friendly merchandise. I also came to appreciate all the efforts designers and manufacturers do to help save mother earth one organic dress at a time.

Melissa Shoes' reinvention of the classic Vivienne Westwood Heel is simply eco-fabulous and eco-chic. The pink anglomania slingback and heart shoe received a eco-friendly makeover. Paying homage to the original, Vivienne Westwood is printed on the shoe which is quite honorable. This pair definitely adds pizzazz to any look. You can wear it with skinny denim jeans, skirt or a dress. A fabulous focal piece to any ensemble.
