Boot season is almost here. This fall, tall boots and knee high boots are right up there on the season's fashion trends. Of all the different styles of tall boots, a few made my must-have list: wedge, slouchy and riding inspired boots. Details like ruffles, harnesses, buttons and buckles are something you can look for when shopping for a pair. Of course you can't go wrong with  sleek, plain boots if worn right that is.

As far as how much you should spend on a pair of boots... well, think of them as smart investments. Keep in mind you will be wearing them during cold, rainy and snowy days. Ideally, under $200 but if you feel like splurging I suggest a pair for everyday use and another for special occasions.

Best 'Smart' Women's Shoes in '08

My third and last pick for the Best 'Smart' Women's Shoes in '08 gain quite the attention when Republican Vice-Presidential nominee Sarah Palin wore a pair of Naughty Monkey 'Double Dare' pumps on one of her many speeches. The edgy and corky yet trendy designs are still to be adored by many. It's more of an acquired taste I guess. Nice job Naughty Monkey!

I was surprised with Gov. Sarah Palin's nomination as the Republican Vice President candidate for this year's election.

Though I'm voting for her counterpart, her shoes certainly get my vote. She recently was photographed during one of her speeches wearing this pair of Red Naughty Monkey 'Double Dare' Pump. Quite stylish, I say.
