I consider 2008, one of the best year for men's footwear. Styles and designs were made with the modern man in mind and what he would wear. I liked the fact that a variety of men's footwear styles earned 'must-have' recognitions throughout the year.
Metallic was not just for the ladies. Metallic sneakers were hot for fall. The renaissance of 80's fashion icon, 'hi-top' sneakers were the craze for summer. Prada's Men's Fall / Winter shoe collection made it clear that patent can also be a guy thing. And PUMA went retro-modern to commemorate it's 60th Birthday Celebration.

In celebration of PUMA's 60th Birthday, a series of free concert are being held in major cities nationwide. Last Monday, the venue was ROXY in Los Angeles, guests flocked to see the Plain White T's and dance the night away to DJ Alan 12's party mixes. There was a photo booth inside the club that everyone was lining up for including me! The event was fun and everyone had a good time! Special thanks to the ROXY staff and PUMA peeps for the gracious accommodations and invitation for the party and of course the birthday celebrant, PUMA!

Sneakers are becoming more than the summer footwear of choice for men. Athletic shoe manufacturers like Puma and Reebok now offer fashion-forward designs and trendy styles. Top designer brands Dolce & Gabanna, Christian Dior and Gucci expanded and developed their sneaker designs in response to the increasing preference and popularity of sneakers amongst their male clientele.
This fall, metallic sneakers are the hot! Expect to see a lot of guys sporting edgy and stylish pairs in the gym, at parties and specially in the clubs. But a word of caution for the guys, don't wear them everyday or every time you're out dancing with your posse. I say this because, you'll definitely get noticed and complimented wearing your new Gucci Metallic Gold sneaker, but don't expect the same response on the third consecutive Saturday night you've worn them. Try on different style pairings and looks that coordinates well with metallic sneakers. And you don't have to wear sneakers that are solid metallic. Sneakers with metallic details would work as well.

I always have to sacrifice style for arch support or vice-versa. Well, that problem has been remedied when Puma launched Cell Meio. Men's sneakers has definitely evolved through the years, adapting to fashion trends and styles. Nowadays, you can wear a pair of stylish casual sneakers with a suit and tie.
