This year's Spring Collection from Vera Wang presents a glimpse at the both the vibrant and subtle signs of life that define the season with a decidedly Asian twist. Using textures, colors, and styles that cast the mind to the part of the world from which her parents were born, Ms. Wang brings dynamism and nuance to the runway.

In a series of stunning dresses, Ms. Wang offers subtle Japanese floral print silk wool. Its natural elements and colors touch upon the diffuse feeling of a Zen watercolor. Another apparent Asian touch can be found in several feminine blouses and dresses featuring kimono necklines. Her neat and pretty sumo rope belts provide a strong and symmetrical look while her origami necklines are meticulously and beautifully presented.

The Spring Collection from Vera Wang invites us to a Zen-like appreciation of both the simple and complex beauty of Asian design. This duality taken all at once is quite lovely and satisfying.
