The upcoming Presidential Election will be forever engraved in U.S. history books as a milestone in some many ways. Personally, it is a momentous event in my life because I will be voting for the first time in my life! I was to young to vote when I left the Philippines and became an American citizen three years ago. So, I decided to celebrate this special day by donning election fashion. Not necessarily wearing stars and stripes (I did that for Fourth of July) or anything that bears the candidate I'm voting for; but if asked I'll be more than happy to say who it is.

I don't claim to be a movie critic nor do I want to start talking about movies on TheSmartStylist.com, but I just saw a movie that was so entertaining, funny and heart warming. Sixty Six is about a boy name Bernie ( played by Gregg Sulkin ) about to have one of the most important event of his life, his bar mitzvah. And the worst and perhaps the only thing ( in England that is ) that can ruin this once in a lifetime event, is England's soccer team! Helena Bonham Carter whom I love is absolutely fabulous in this movie.  Sixty Six is now playing in select cities nationwide. And as special treat to L.A. moviegoers, bring your ticket stub and get 25% OFF Cafe 50's! So, if your planning on watching a movie tomorrow or this weekend, Sixty Six will be worth your time and money. Definitely, one of the best movies I have seen this year!

Today is the birthday of someone close to my heart (despite my obvious lack of style). So warm birthday wishes to you today, baby.

Bravo held it's first 'A List Award' last night. Giving recognitions of excellence in Food, Fashion, Design and Pop Culture. The show was fun and entertaining. Hosted by 'Miss d list' herself, Kathy Griffin made the show enjoyable and worthwhile. The highlight  was a 'fashion for a cause' auction, with all proceeds donated to UNICEF's ongoing relief efforts in Myanmar.

A 'Project Runway' inspired challenge, paired designers from previous seasons with celebrity models. My personal favorites were Chris March's design made with human hair modeled by 'Make me a Supermodel' winner Holly Kiser.  Sweet P.'s plaid cranberry dress with leather trim was edgy and chic a perfect fit for her celebrity model Kat Von D. Capping of my top 3 is a white pencil cut dress from designer-celeb duo Michael Knight and 'Dancing With the Stars' Karina Smirnoff.

Auction ends on June 19th. Your winning bid goes beyond the outfit, it will save lives! Kudos to Bravo, the designers and celebrities whom made this great cause happen.
