Bookmark, Send & Share Men's Winter Essential: The Parka

Worn by eskimos, explorers, whalers and arctic natives, the parka has become a trend on its own. Traditionally made out of deer or caribou hides, seal skin with the hood lined with fox, coyote or even one with polar bear fur. Though the traditional parka still widely use by it's originators, the advancement in technology has able as to wear a parka guilt-free by using synthetic fur and waterproof materials like nylon and polyester.

The style and design of this arctic wear evolved as well. From having the option of a ankle length or thigh length to fashion forward, edgy styles. Parkas have graced the pages of every men's fashion magazine and made appearances on men's fall/winter collections by fashion's top designers.

Parkas are a great alternative to puffer coats and trench coats for winter. They are not to casual yet not formal. You can easily wear them with denim or pants, for night or day. If shopping for one, just make sure the parka you're looking at is cruelty-free against animals. No creature has to die for us to look fashionable. Enjoy your day!
